Appointment of electrodes MR-3 For manual arc welding of critical structures made of carbon and low-alloy steels, when increased requirements are imposed on the formation of seams in different spatial positions:
— bottom;
— vertical;
— ceiling.
The main area of use is in the installation of critical structures made of low-alloy steels, when increased strength of the joints is required.
Areas of use:
• welding of pipes during the installation of pipelines, the creation of fixed pipe joints;
• welding, repair of tanks operated under high pressure conditions;
• shipbuilding;
• mechanical engineering.
Rutile-coated electrodes contain 95% rutile (a natural mineral composed mainly of ferrous titanate FeO-TiO2), some carbonates and some cellulose, and ferromanganese as a deoxidizer. The interaction of all these substances during the welding process provides a moderate weld performance slightly lower than with base coatings. They are very suitable for welding critical structures made of carbon and low alloy steels. Arc stability is a property that allows the electrode to be used for both direct and alternating current welding with straight polarity. They are most often used for welding thin products.
— The joint obtained by welding is characterized by high strength. — The arc is characterized by light ignition and combustion stability, especially at low amperage. — Reignition is easily achieved. — There are no pronounced transition zones between the weld metal and the part. — In the resulting seam there are no joints, it is notable for its evenness, good presentation. — Due to the rutile type of coating, the seam is reliably protected from slag entering it — Very little metal spatter is characteristic of the electrode. — The works are characterized by high productivity. — MP-3 is equally suitable for both welding and tack welding.
• Indicator of mechanical tensile strength — no more than 46 kgf / mm2;
• Relative elongation — 18%;
• Limit of weld surfacing coefficient — 8.5 g / A * h.
• Coefficient of metal spatter during welding — 9-13%;
• Impact strength — 8 kgf ∙ m / cm2.
• Rod length DN 3 mm — 350 mm.
